James Fuller

James Fuller has been an American Red Cross Transportation Services Volunteer driver from more than 15 years.image His caring and compassionate attitude is demonstrated with paid staff, other volunteers and especially with the clients that he transports to and from their medical appointments every Wednesday.
James averages about 30 hours a week and is always willing to go the extra mile when necessary.
Over the last several years, James has taken on an additional role in Transportation Services as a Client Driver Trainer, in which he spends 20 hours with a new volunteer, assuring that they have all of the necessary information to be a successful transportation driver.
He said driving clients to their medical appointments is very rewarding.  The clients are very appreciative of our service and that gives him a lot of self satisfaction. His life has been very blessed and he enjoys giving back to individuals who are less fortunate.
James and his lovely wife, Carolyn, enjoy domestic and international traveling.  They have toured Europe, Canada and Panama to name a few trips.
James also enjoys playing cards, reading and listening to all types of music.
It is very obvious that James enjoys life, and he definitely spreads a little happiness to each client he transports.
Kudos James Fuller!

Linda Fry and Fred Coggins

Linda Fry has been a volunteer for the American Red Cross since 1974!  image
On her second day as a Red Cross volunteer, an F3 tornado hit the country, and she spent the next 11 days assisting at the service center! After moving to the area from Pennsylvania, she currently helps at the Lake Norman office.
Linda is very active in Disaster Services as a Disaster Services Instructor. She recently spent the night as shelter supervisor in the overnight shelter for clients affected by the Doral/Cavalier apartments flooding. When the need for transportation volunteers was requested, Linda was willing to volunteer more of her time to become a Client Driver and agreed to become a Defensive Driving Instructor.
Linda is very active outside the Red Cross, she loves “squeezing” her 6-month-old grandson, going out to lunch or a movie with friends, reading, cooking new recipes and going to a variety of activities sponsored by the Newcomer’s Group. We are so privileged to be in the company of a great person.
Linda: Thank you so much for your valuable time and dedication!

Fred Coggins, who lives in Mooresville, has been a loyal driver for the Lake Norman Transportation Program for the past 18 months. He drives the dialysis carpool on Wednesdays and local residents who need medical transportation on Thursdays. Fred, a true Lake Norman native, is thoroughly versed on local history and enjoys sharing his knowledge with the clients. Fred is also a devoted Davidson College basketball fan who was presented his very own team sweatshirt by the women’s team at the end of the season. Fred has a huge smile on his face these days as the Davidson men’s team heads into the NCAA tournament.

Thank you for all you do, Fred!
